Band O Rama

Band-O-Rama was the end of February.  This is a big band event within the school district where the 5th, 6th, 7th-8th and high school bands perform.  It is always a good concert. 

 

The sixth grade band combines students from three elementary schools who only practice together once the day of the concert. 

There were three sixth grade trombone players.  They played three songs for the audience and did a great job!

My parents (pictured above) and Seth's parents were able to attend the concert.  We're joking about how soon it will be before Ephraim passes me up in height.  I have a feeling it won't be long!

Washington Archery

On Saturday, February 20, the boys had their last archer tournament in Washington.  They were originally scheduled to be at the same target . . . but there was a last minute adjustment made so that was changed.

Grandpa and Grandma made the trip to watch this tournament.

The downside of archery is that if you want a good picture of the targets, there is often a coach or someone standing in the way.  This was the best I could do, but Emmet and the girl at his target (also a 4th grader) were great.  This round of arrows was all yellow!  It seemed like the arrows were following each other's arrows.

North Mahaska Archery

On Saturday, February 6, boys had an archery tournament in New Sharon.

They were lucky enough to have three grandparents in the audience and some friends from church.  They both had a great shoot!

Albia Archery

January 30 was another archery tournament in Albia. 

 

The boys were at the same target for this tournament.  That's better than having them on opposite sides of the gym, but they weren't too thrilled to share a target. 

That's a nice set of arrows in the yellow!

They have to record each other's scores.
