Top Ten Activities While Camping

We were invited by some friends to join them camping at Saylorville Lake. After much thought, we said "yes" and boy are we glad we did. We had a blast! Jenny's parents watched the girls for the weekend so we could enjoy camping with the boys! Here are our Top Ten Activites While Camping:
10. Packing the van! This was a bit tricky and time consuming! Look, you can barely see the kids.



9. When we arrived at our camp site, the first thing the boys wanted to do was ride their bikes. Helmets were required! We had a few crashes but nothing major, at least from an adult viewpoint.

7. Watching the water of Saylorville Lake. This was our destination while on a hike. I think Micah, Ephraim and Emmet were contemplating how to get wet . . .

6. EATING!! It was hard to get everyone in our group sitting down and eating at the same time. There were 10 adults and 8 kids! And the kids were all ages 6 to age 3!

5. BOATING! We all rented a pontoon boat at Big Creek Lake, north of Saylorville. All 18 of us were able to ride at the same time! The boat didn't go very fast, but it was fast enough for the kids. Below is Dan, Seth, Tim and Nick.

We finally told the kids that they couldn't look over the back side of the boat--too dangerous.

4. The playground! Emmet wanted to hang out with Sevanna.

3. Sleeping! Camping is hard work. Surprisingly, the boys did go to bed without much of a fight.

2. Hanging out with friends!

And the # 1 Camping activity: devotion and prayer time with each other. Praise God for a great group of friends and children to hang out with.
