Ephraim got to ride first. Emmet really wanted to ride first, but he was able to help Grandpa with a project first.
The baler on the outside of the field picking up a row of mowed oats.
Then Emmet was able to join Ephraim for a ride.
We were able to get Seth to stop long enough for a family photo. The bales are small because they are wet and heavy, the baler starts to "complain" if we make them any bigger. The bales will get wrapped in plastic and turned into silage. This will be our cattle feed this winter.
Here are the girls in the cab with Seth. We now have a rule of only 2 or 1 at a time. With 4 in the cab it starts to mess with Seth's concentration. And certain jobs require more concentration than others.
Lovin' it in the field!
Eden's turn is done :(
The girls and I headed for home and the boys stayed to help finish the field. They got to watch Justin wrap the bales into one long string of wrapped bales. Now their job is to check the wrapping every week for any signs of compromise--like a raccoon trying to rip it open.
