Goal: Kitchen cleaning

One of my ongoing goals for this year is to clean up the house and get rid of some clutter (or at least pick it up and find a place for it).

There's no better place to start than the kitchen. I spend a lot of time in there--cooking, cleaning, reading the mail, doing crafts, schooling the kids, etc, etc.

The boys were eager to help and earn $1.

We started by emptying the fridge. We usually do not have too may gross things in there since we tend to eat all our leftovers! There was one old jar of pickles in there, but that was about it for gross stuff.

But we did find our very first egg from 2010! I can see your eyes rolling now. Yes, I kept it. But not anymore. It went in the garbage.

Emmet was eager to wash the shelves and drawers. I have a clean fridge now, inside and outside. I took the time to switch out all of our old pictures and put in new ones. And take down a few out-dated sheets of information.

I cleaned the counters and organized the appliances that I leave on the counter. It's been like this for about two weeks now and I love it. I'm making a conscious effort to keep it cleaned off, dishes washed or in the dishwasher, etc. I still have to work on the area to the left of the stove (conveniently left out of the picture)! This is the area that gets piled high with mail, Sunday School papers, etc.

Anyway, just wanted to share my goal of kitchen cleaning/organizing.
