Friday shopping/VW visit

Part of ushering in a new season, is the "changing of the clothes" in the closet.  I was pleased that I would not have to buy anything new for the girls thanks to some previous clearance purchases and hand-me-downs.  Emmet was all set with hand-me-downs, too.  Ephraim, on the other hand, needed some things.  I am also in charge of VBS crafts for preschool.  So that need, combined with Ephraim's need equaled a trip to Des Moines.  I dropped the children off with my parents and proceeded to the big city for a quick shopping trip.  I only had 45 minutes at Hobby Lobby before they closed and only 45 minutes at Merle Hay, but it actually worked out best that way.

Before I left to go shopping, here is Eliza petting Grandpa's ducks.  She (the duck) is sitting on a nest of eggs.

Just a picture of a wagon that my Grandpa Boat made.  I have many memories of this wagon and if I had more time, I would post a picture of Amber & I with this wagon when we were little.

Waving at Grandpa who is planting beans.

Just pausing for another picture in front of the planter.

My purchases.  Ephraim needed shorts so I got him two pairs of denim and two pairs of "church" shorts.  Both boys needed socks.  I'm having a hard time finding socks that last!  Hanes do not.  Neither do JCPenney's socks.  So, we're going with Kohl's this time.  They had a buy one get one 1/2 off sale.  Ephraim also needed pajamas, other than that, they are all set for spring & summer.  I'm also excited that everyone's shoes/sandals still fit, too.  Sometimes it pays to buy big one year and then you get two year's worth.  My quick shopping trip was a success.  The kids had fun with Grandpa & Grandma, too.
