November Events

Moving along to November, here are some random events.
I think this is Ephraim's shot at practice.  The inner yellow circle is 10 points, the highest.  The 2nd yellow circle is 9 points.  That's a great round!

Another good round.

I printed a WWII game from one of those teacher sites.  We've enjoyed playing it and it has some great trivia questions as well.

This is my group of rare breed chickens, all snug on the top roost.

Because we helped move Seth's great aunt from her home to assisted living, she gave us money to go to a movie and eat out.  We saw The PeanutsMovie (very cute movie) and had pizza.

Archery practice again.

The girls have enjoyed their homeschool gymnastics class.

Packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.  We do this every year and we collect items for the boxes all year long.  By the time November comes, we only need to buy a few necessities to finish off our boxes.

A double rainbow is always pretty and a wonder for the kids to see.

The girls at their GEMS supper for Veterans and Senior Citizens.  I was able to stay and have supper with them.

Singing a few songs to the guests.

Eden saw me with the camera.

Oh boy, she's giving me the look here!

Boxes are filled, prayed over and ready to send!

We had the chance to host this missionary from Africa.  We had a great meal with her and then brought her back to the airport.  She will have a part in helping with the pastoral shortage in Africa.

It isn't fancy, but it is our 500th pair of shoes for Sole Hope!

More gymnastics.

Our church was a relay center for the area, meaning they collected other Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes from other churches.  We have helped with this in the past and had a shift this year.  We take the boxes that are brought in and pack them in big boxes.

Beautiful snow.

Are you sure the snow is beautiful?

The chickens were not wanting to venture out into the snow.

The girls and I had tickets to a school performance of Junie B. Jones in Ames.  The boys were able to stay and help out Grandpa Harold for the day.  It was a great performance and a fun day for us!

Homemade monkey bread for breakfast.

Eliza is making a bag that is piece quilted together.

We taught the kids how to play Spoons and they love it!

Eden may not have caught on to the game at first, but she became a pro later on!

Eliza even won a time or two.

Time to get out the Christmas tree after Thanksgiving.

Playing Spit with the kids.

The kids always enjoy getting out the ornaments--most of them homemade or with sentimental memories.  Our tree doesn't belong in a magazine, but it looks just fine in our home.
