October fun

Whoops----going back an extra month to finish up October's random events!

We hosted newly retired missionaries in our church for the morning and for a luncheon.  It was a pleasure to visit with them and exchange stories.  I didn't realize that this woman has my Grandma's sewing machine!

Eliza likes to make Jell-O!

These "little" piggies went to the locker to fill our freezer and others with ham, bacon, and sausage.

Ephraim gave a presentation at 4-H about quad-track tractors.

Emmet gave a presentation on our Black Cochin Bantam chickens.

Playing 10 Days in Europe while we wait for their great-great aunt to be finished with therapy.  Her regular ride was out of town for a week so we stepped in and helped.

Ephraim had an interview for 4-H awards on this day.

We were able to catch on of our nephew John's soccer games.  It was a beautiful day and John had several goals.

While the moms are working with a Sole Hope party, the kiddos are playing games!

Playing a skeleton game.  We like that we can check these games out from our homeschool library.

We traveled to Pella to watch the marching band during a football game.  Our nephew Mark plays trombone.  It was an excellent performance with a WWII theme.

More pigs headed to the locker to feed our family and others.

Happy 40th Birthday to Michelle, Seth's sister.

Enjoying an evening of archery practice.

Emmet with his bow.  It is great that he can keep this same bow all the way through school.

We didn't do much for Trick or Treating.  The local church down the road from us had a Trunk or Treat with free chili soup inside.  We visited a couple friends in town and came home.

Calves waiting to be fed.

We like our Herefords.  You can see the girls petting them.  Our bull is in the middle and Eden has a special place in her heart for King the Bull.
