Jesse Tree: Finale

This post is a bit overdue, but better late than never. With all of our Christmas festivities, we did continue to do our Jesse Tree devotions and our ornaments. Our ornaments did get simpler--mostly cutting and coloring. But the kids didn't seem to mind. And you'll have to settle for these few group shots of our finished ornaments.

On December 15 we read the famous story of Jonah trying to run from God and he was saved by a big fish. That's our blue whale ornament.

On December 16 we read the story of Ester and the special job that God had in mind for her. Her bravery saved many lives. Her ornament is the scepter.

On December 17 we read in Micah 5 about preparing our hearts for God. This ornament is the city of Bethlehem.

On December 18 we read the story of Daniel in the Lion's Den. We need to trust and honor God with each of our days.

On December 19 we read in Habbakuk that waiting is sometimes hard to do. This ornament is the watchtower.
On December 20, we read in Luke 1 about the Zechariah and Elizabeth. They were told the exciting news that they would be expecting a son!
On December 21, we read in Matthew 3 about the birth of John the Baptist. The ornament for today was the sea shell, a symbol of baptism.
On December 22, we read from Luke 1. God had chosen Mary to be the mother of Jesus. The heart was our ornament.
On December 23, we read in Matthew 1 that Joseph would be the earthly father to Jesus. The carpenter tools were the ornament.
On December 24 the sandals represented the journey that Mary & Joseph had to take, as told in Luke 2.
On December 25 we read about Jesus being born in Luke 2!

Our finished Jesse Tree. A little heavy on ornaments, but special to us!
We divided the ornaments by child and have packed them away. Maybe we'll get them out in a few years and "Remember when. . . ."
