Van Wyk Christmas 2011

Wednesday, the 28th was spent with my parents and sister and her family. We opened presents in the afternoon! We could hardly make the kids wait that long!
So, let's get started!
Lego sets for the boys!

And 18-inch dolls for the girls (Target version, not the $150 ones from American Girl or My Twinn). Eliza has Lily, Alyssa got Hally and Eden has Katelyn.

A dinosaur dig set for the boys! This set had pretty good reviews on a homeschool blog that I follow, so I put it on the kids' wish list.

Looks like we'll have some boys diggin' for fossils later.

And special gift from Grandma--homemade nightgowns for the girls AND their new dolls!

Sweet!

Thank you, Grandma!

And a special gift for Grandma & Grandpa--we got them a 750 piece puzzle of the six grandkids on Grandpa's tractor. We took that picture over Thanksgiving with a puzzle in mind. It turned out great and mom really liked the puzzle! We started putting it together that afternoon.
For Grandpa, we got him a windsock--it was just what he wanted.

My gift to Alyssa: two shirts for her from Target and then I made two shirts that match the Target shirts for her new doll and a pair of jeans for her doll.

More Legos for the boys from Garret!

A Lego idea book for the boys from Garret.

Oh-la-la--coats for our new dolls made by Grandma!

Grandma's first attempt at getting the girls to take a picture in their nightgowns wasn't too successful. . . .
but then we couldn't get them out of their nightgowns!

After a delicious supper, we opened our stockings--a few more small gifts for the kids and the adults. Thank you for everything! Seth received the entire series of Home Improvement--all 8 seasons on DVD--Love it! I got some great books from Mom & Dad and some jewelry from Amber. It was a great Christmas together!
