Sled + Smiles = EXCITEMENT

I think it was Friday when we woke up to a few inches of snow on the ground. It was a heavy wet snow and the ground wasn't frozen underneath, so it was a bit muddy. We weren't able to be out in it on Friday but on Saturday we knew this was our last chance. After lunch the kids bundled up and Seth fired up the 4-wheeler.

Waiting on Daddy to air up the innertubes.

Ephraim and I. It was instinct to tell him to smile but I guess it didn't matter.

Emmet and Eliza on the sled first. You can tell that the snow is disappearing fast.

Eden and I on the innertube.

Emmet was on the innertube with us for a bit. He was so HAPPY! He made up his own joke: What's a smile plus a sled? EXCITEMENT. And just the way he said it, you could tell he was having a great time. I want to remember the way he said this forever. Part of what we want to leave our kids is the memory of doing fun things as a family.

Ephraim (and Eliza behind him) on the sled.

A look at where we ride. We're losing the snow :( But this is a perfect spot to ride the tube and the sled.

Two boys coming in after an exciting ride.

Eliza and I on the tube.

Eden was ready to be done after a short time. So we stood off to the side and watched the boys. And played with the cat. We have big, healthy cats so it was a bit much for Eden to handle.

And Eliza handling the same cat! Not sure the cat is enjoying this but he is at least tolerating it.
I'm glad we were able to get out and enjoy this last bit of snow. There may be more snow coming, but it won't last long. We're also glad that our schedule allows us to take in these random moments of enjoying the snow.
