Cornhusk doll

This is the perfect year to make cornhusk dolls.  The husks are nice and dry.  So, off we went to the field to fill a bucket with husks.  It certainly didn't take long.

Emmet and Eden looking for the perfect husks.

Eliza and Ephraim searching the field.

The field was a bit of a walk from the house, but on a BEAUTIFUL day, we didn't mind at all.  In fact, this would be our last very nice day.
Crossing the dry crick.

I found some instructions online that looked do-able.  They picked out their husks but I did all the tying around the waist, head, arms, etc.  The girls used markers for eyes and mouth.

The boy cornhusk dolls.
I think they turned out cute enough.  Just a fun, simple, frugal craft to occupy us for an hour.  That's all I need some days.
