The girls and Emmet took turns opening presents after cake time. Here are the girls and their gifts.
Thanks to Grandma Donna & Grandpa Arlin for the fuzzy coats and cowgirl books!
The girls then opened a gift from Mommy & Daddy. It was a fancy dress, a hat and wand.
I was pretty tickled to find the dresses at a local consignment shop for $7 each! They were the perfect colors and sizes. I found the hats on clearance at Kmart for $1.99 and the wands at Dollar Tree. The idea for this gift came when the girls saw a tea party set in a magazine and wanted the entire scene. So, I set about trying to do my best to recreate the set without spending a fortune.
Opening pillows from Grandma Twyla & Grandpa Harold.
Robes & doll robes to match!
Warm & snuggly!
American Girl movies from Uncle Jim, Aunt Amber, Garret & Alyssa.
Aprons and bonnets from Uncle Tom, Aunt Michelle, Mark & John. And a Little House on the Prairie Book.
One last gift from Mommy & Daddy . . . to go along with the tea party theme: a tea set. I found the basket, tea cups and saucers at Goodwill. Added in some napkins, jewelry and gloves, wa-laaa . . . their very own tea party set.
Unveiling the doll dresser I made for them.
Three cousins with their dolls and matching robes! Thanks Grandma!
Painting nails with their new polish.
Having a tea party! Eliza loved her new dress, crown, tea set, etc. It was precious to see her so happy! She even slept in her dress! At times she can be a tomboy and tends to hang with the boys but she definitely has some princess in her, too.
We ended our party by playing a few hands of Spit. With 10 people! Ten decks of cards! Twenty hands flying everywhere! (Amazingly, I don't think we had any injuries!)
It truly was a good time!
All in all, it was a splendid party. A good time was had by all. Emmet, Eden & Eliza have enjoyed every one of their presents.
