In Kansas City . . .

we had a SPLASHING, LOUD & ROARING good time. We spent time with my sister Amber and her family. We enjoyed the backyard slip-n-slide, the city's fireworks and the Dinosaur's Unearthed exhibit at Union Station. Here are my "few" pictures.
Eliza is not one to shy away from the excitement.
Ephraim coming down.

And Emmet. It was a double-wide slip-n-slide, so they started going down two at a time.

Eden never even made it out of her dress into her swimsuit.
She preferred to play with Alyssa's dolls. And cuddle with an adult since fireworks were already going off in the city streets.
Share, please.
"When are the fireworks going to start?" Not for a while, we came early to get a good seat. Their seat in the truck was short lived when Jim had to leave. The firetrucks had gone by about two minutes prior to Jim's phone ringing to tell him that the church's alarm was going off. No fire, just a false alarm.
Legs on Eliza to make sure she stays put. The street was a bit too close for comfort.
The girls with the grandparents. Eden wasn't too fond of the loud fireworks. She made the rounds, clinging to the adults.

The boys kept saying that this was the best 4th of July ever.
After the fireworks, we had to navigate the city streets that were littered with people setting off their own fireworks. And mommy had to literally take a midnight drive with the girls to get them to go to sleep.

Monday, the 5th we were off to Union Station for the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit. After finding the parking lot (which was a bit of a challenge), we enjoyed the exhibits. The boys were beyond excited!!

The boys were wearing their T Rex shirts for the occasion.

There were buttons for about all the dinosaurs that activated their heads, tails, limbs and neck. Pretty fun for the kids!

Did you know that if a T.Rex were to sneeze, you'd have 7 gallons of snot?

Oh, look a picture of me and Eden.

Checkin' out the small fossils.

My turn!

The kids loved all the exhibits! They went running from one to the other, exclaiming "Look at this one!" The time we spent together showing this to them was priceless. Because they were so good . . .
. . . we let them do the "Build-a-Dino". It's similar to the Build-a-Bear stores. Ephraim picked a Diplodocus and Emmet picked the Saber Toothed Tiger. And the girls only came away with the cheap little stuffed dino. A pink T-Rex for Eden and a purple T-Rex for Eliza.

Showing off their new toys.

Also at Union Station, there is a LARGE model train exhibit.
I love how this picture turned out with the reflection of the kids in the plexi-glass.

Our best attempt at a family picture. The kids were getting tired and hungry.

And outside Union Station . . .

We had a great time in Missouri. And the boys thought it was the best ever. We may have to go back next year. I have a feeling Seth wants to buy a little more than just stuffed dinosaurs.
