On Saturday, August 3rd, we did some more sweet corn in the afternoon. Arlin brought over about 270 ears for us to do. We got over 27 quarts from this batch which will get us a long ways through the winter, in addition to what we froze earlier.
Here are just a couple pictures.
We husked the corn right from the back of the truck. Everyone had a job to do.
And for a while, Eden's job was to sing and dance for us.
If you've been working hard, you do get to take a break so you have the energy to keep going.
We husked the corn, cleaned it, cut it off the cob, cooked it and cooled it from 3:00 until 7:30, stopping for homemade pizza for supper.
We are so thankful for the ability to grow the sweet corn that will feed our family all winter.
