Peas!

Let the garden preserving begin.  These are some peas from my mother-in-law's garden.  Mine are about one week behind and now they are coming on strong.  We had about a gallon bucket to preserve.  We've been eating them for supper, too.  First, I started by washing them and putting them in the wire basket.  Then it was time to boil for two minutes. . . .

Then dip into ice water until cool . . .

And then package . . .
I got 5 pints. What a treat it will be to pull them out during the off season.  My kids love these so that's an added bonus.  What a blessing to have a garden and know how to use it :)
