Jesse Tree Ornaments #1,2,3, 4 & 5

Our Jesse Tree is coming along nicely. Here is what we had to start with. A branch, courtesy of our yard. We planted it in a vase with sand and rocks to steady it. It is in the corner of the kitchen--ideally a low-traffic area.

Our first ornament: a stump of wood. Isaiah 11: 1-2 talks about a shoot rising up from the stump of Jesse's family tree.

Our second ornaments: a globe. We made our globes from Sculpey (clay that you bake to harden). Genesis 1 is the Bible chapter and it outlines the creation of the world.

Ephraim did really good to get his green globs to resemble the continents.

Our third ornament: a toy snake. In Genesis 3 we read about how sin entered the world.

Our fourth ornament: Noah's Ark with a rainbow. Genesis 6-9 tells about the corrupt world, Noah, the flood and God's promise to never flood the world again.

Here is everyone making their rainbow above their ark. Thanks again to our neighbor for all the beads!

Eliza taking great care with each bead.

In Genesis 12, we read about Abraham and the great journey he had to take while following God. Our ornament: a corn cob camel!

The body, legs, neck & head are corn cob pieces. We used curly hair for the girls and yarn for a mane on the boys' camels. We used googly eyes and fabric for a blanket on their back. The hump of the camel is an acorn top. And the tail is a pipe cleaner with beads. The kids are really enjoying their Jesse Tree crafts. Stay tuned for more!
