On December 10, our Jesse Tree devotion focused on David, who as a shepherd boy, was told he would be king. He was anointed with oil and went back to tending the sheep. Our pipe cleaner staff is the ornament for that story from 1 Samuel 16.
The next day our ornament was a crown. We talked about David's reign as king. God was trusting him to take care of the people of Israel. We read 2 Samuel 5. We colored the crown and then glued on sequins.
On December 12, we read Isaiah 9. The people were reminded of God's promise to send a Savior. God had not forgotten them. We colored the rose for this ornament.
